Tagged

Yay for my first tag :) There is this blogging thing that has been going around and one of my high school best friends tagged me. Her name is Megan and I adore her. Saddly life has been so busy for the past while so I haven't had a chance to hang out with her but as soon as school is over I plan to have many visits with her and her sweet baby boy :). I miss her.

So here's the list:
1.List three things you love about yourself.
2.Post a picture you love.
3.List five bloggers to whom your passing this along to.

1. This one is hard for me because I tend to get down on myself quite a bit.With that being said I do have some things I love about myself;
A) I love being me, there is no one like me and for that I'm grateful. I may be a product of my parents and how they raised me (which was fantstic by the way, I love them so much) but I am my own person with my own mind and thoughts. I am unique. I am my own kind of beautiful. I am a daughter of God who has the potential to become something far greater then I can even fathom. I love who I am and who I am becoming.

B) I have the ability to feel others pain. This is both a blessing a curse because I tend to take on everyone's problems. There were times in high school where I layed in my bed and cried over something that was happening to someone else. I've gotten better at distancing myself from others problems but even now there times I want to help someone with a major issue and unfortunately I can't. It kills me. But I do love how I can try to relate to people, I'm a naturally caring person and love to listen and try to be there for moral support. My entire life I've been the person who attempts to be strong for others just so they can feel like someone cares. Everyone needs a friend :)

C) I love how I'm not perfect. This may sound strange but I honestly do love how as I go through life I have so many chances to grow and develop as a person. How much would I truly get out of life if I was a perfect person and couldn't progress further? My experiences define me; they have, and continue to, make me into the person I am. Yes at times I wish I could skip the whole 'learn through my own mistakes' thing but really it has made me stronger. The thing I love the most though is that I'm not done learning, I have so much more to learn and I will never be perfect in this life. It gives me an opportunity to grow.

2.
I love my roommates and couldn't ask for anyone better to live with when I'm not at my parents.
PS: I was trying to find a current picture of my entire family and didn't suceed, I guess we'll just have to get on that :P

Sorry just three for me :)

Bliss :)

A good afternoon :)

For those of you who are not aware of the state of my room, before yesterday, had not a 'makeover' (aka a nice cleaning) in months. But yesterday I decided that a cluttered room makes a cluttered mind so I buckled down and did it, I even went as far as to tackle the front enrty. I love spring cleaning :) and chocolate is always a welcomed addition to any day....

Also Kalina and I have this impulse to change up our living room, but even though I was dieing to do it last night we decided to wait for Kim and her expert interior design ways to get back from a school trip. But I can't wait to change things up, it's almost spring time so I feel a need for a change. I see all the cute colors, flowers and spring things that I want to get them all. But my bank account is not happy with me as of late so I'm trying to resist :P Hopefully in a month (if all goes well) though I'll be making some money again :P.

Only three weeks then I'm free!!

Stronger

Every day I become a little bit stronger. Life has still been a yo-yo lately, what else is new right? Well this week I made some hard decisions and I feel that they are for the best. I am grateful for parents who sit with me and comfort me through everything, I honestly don't know how I would last without them. Even when they know perfectly well that I am being stupid they stand by me waiting for me to come to the realization on my own. And when I do they are there with open arms. It's been hard but I just keep holding onto the hope that after the storm will come the sunshine. I know this will be true and in a little while I will be able to look back on this and realize how much stronger I have become. For now though I am going to get through the next couple of weeks and hopefully go back to work :)

Life is very interesting... in the end, some of your greatest pains, become your greatest strengths.

Looking Up

Today has already been great :) Although I went to bed at four this morning (ooops...) I woke up so excited for the day. Mostly because I have been planning all week to wear a dress, but I couldn't earlier this week due to practicum :P. I loved it though, dresses make me feel happier. I don't know why but what you wear often defines your mood, so when I put on a cute dress I feel good and therefore my mood is lightened as well.

Tonight I went to my parents for dinner and although my mom and dad left for the temple I had a great conversation with my mom. I am so happy that I have that kind of relationship, the kind where we can discuss anything and she listens and understands me. I also LOVE how much my parents attend the temple, because of them I have had grown up with a love and yearning for going inside to be sealed like they are. We can be an eternal family because of the decisions they have made. I love them.

I got to watch A Walk to Remember tonight, I forgot how much I love this movie. It may be an older one but it still makes me cry. I like how it's a simple love story, no sex, no uneeded making out, hardly any swearing, it's just a sweet simple love story. I would recomend it for all ages (if you haven't already seen it). Also my visiting teachers are taking me to the dance tonight so I don't have to go alone. It's amazing how when I felt the most alone the Lord provided me with visiting teachers to make me feel included in my ward. I am so happy today.

This week I have been so happy, even with school and assignments I feel great. It's been a long time since I've felt this way. Even with a million things to do this weekend I feel...joyous, I am so happy with where I am in life. I'll admit one month ago I didn't know how I would get through the rest of the semester but things started turning around two weeks ago, I started to feel like myself again. If anything I am stronger then I was and I have a better sense of what I want. I've rounded the corner, no looking back :). It's funny how once you start doing things such as paying your tithing and attending FHE things immediently start getting better. I can't wait to see what other blessings are in store because it seems that after the biggest storms comes the largest blessings.

Part Two

So I'm currently writting an essay on prosocial behaviour, physical violence, and social aggresion found in the show "The Big Comfy Couch". Three pages of it. I'm on page two. Can you say boring? :P Instead of telling you about my pain here's what was stuck in my head all day today:

There now it's stuck in your head as well. After I finish this I have to find ten references of health and family services found in my community :S. Hopefully that doesn't take to long though. Also tomorrow is Friday! Then I can sleep and hopefully enjoy the warm weather. I also just found out my movie off amazon came today, I didn't think it would be here for another month so that was a great surprise :) So now I have something new to watch while I finish my play area and activity planning this weekend.

Also I would like to say I'm so glad it's March, February is a tough month and I'm glad February 2011 is now in my past :). Bring on the warm spring weather and cute summer clothes!!

Summer

Dear Summer,
Come faster, I miss your warmth and am sick of snow, puffy coats, and the cold. I bought a new dress and I want to wear it, soOo I would appreciate it if you would come. Now.
Yours Truly,
Julie Marie

I really want summer to come, not that I don't enjoy school...but I am so ready for it to end and all but today as I was sitting in class for some reason I was thinking about Stirling Days (random I know...) but I was just remembering sunburns, the kiddie carnival, beef on a bun, the parade, and fireworks. I don't really love it all that much but as the sun was shining today I thought of summer and lazy days with my daycare children. I miss it and am SO ready for school to be over and done with. Only five weeks left!

On a happier note (because my posts all seem to be depressing lately) I love my new placement in practicum, I can't say to much about it but I absolutely love it. Also today I didn't wear a big puffy coat, just my hoodie :) It was so nice that I parked in a different parking lot so I enjoyed the warm weather and walked a little further then normal. I didn't even mind :)

Something I do not recommend however is watching an hour and a half of The Big Comfy Couch...I understand why my mom didn't watch it with me when I was younger. I have to watch it for a homework assignment and honestly I'm dieing. Oh well there are worse things I suppose.

Get Back On the Merry Go Round

My roommates and I were talking tonight and Kim brought up and interesting metaphor, I liked the concept so I added some more detail to it:

Life is like a merry go round, you get on and spin at a nice relaxing pace for a while. Then all of a sudden there's the one kid who comes by and asks if he can join you, against your better judgement you say yes, knowing full well that this kid is much bigger and stronger then you and given the opportunity he will try to get you off the merry go round. You could have turned him down but no, your strong enough right? so you said yes. He starts spinning you and again you think to yourself "wow this is getting a little out of control" but you ignore it, thinking all will be well.

Before you know it you are spinning way to fast. You scream and tell them to slow down, you were comfortable with the pace you were at before. "Please go back to the way it was, I liked where I was at!" you say but they continue to spin you faster and faster until you fly off. Does he care? No. And now not only are you face down in the dirt with a skinned knee but now you have to run and try to get back on. All you want to do is give up, to break down and cry. But what good will that do? You will just have to work twice as hard to pick yourself up and catch up again.

Life likes to throw you off sometimes, but you have to decide to pick yourself up off the ground and get back on that merry go round as soon as you can.

Life doesn't stop or slow down for anyone.

Random I know, and it most likely doesn't make that much sense to anyone. But I guess all that matters is that it makes sense to me. Thanks for bearing with me :)
